Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

NEW YORK, July 21 (UPI) -- San Francisco Giants shortstop Rich Aurilia Monday was named National League Player of the Week.
Aurilia hit .671 with two doubles, a triple and seven RBI during the period.
Aurilia went 8-for-14, scored four runs, recorded an .847 slugging percentage, and had a .600 on-base percentage during
the week. His batting average was tops in the NL and sparked the Giants to a four-game sweep of the Colorado Rockies.
