Tony Graffanino walked to open the bottom of the third, took second on Roberto Alomar's single and scored one out later on a double to right field by Magglio Ordonez. After Carlos Lee struck out, Everett singled to put the White Sox ahead for good.
Starter Mike Porzio (1-1) allowed three runs and five hits in five innings to record his first win since Sept. 10, 2002 against Kansas City.
Recalled from AAA Buffalo on Sunday to make his third start, Brian Tallet (0-2) gave up four runs and five hits in 4 2/3 innings for Cleveland.
