
SAN ANTONIO, July 20 (UPI) -- Chamique Holdsclaw scored 24 points to lead a balanced attack Saturday night as Washington beat the San Antonio Silver Stars, 85-77.
The Mystics won for the third straight time.
Coco Miller scored 18 points, Stacy Dales-Schuman and Murriel Page added 14 apiece, and Asjha Jones 11 off the bench for the Mystics, who shot 49 percent (33-of-67) from the field and beat the Silver Stars for the second time in as many meetings this season.
Holdsclaw scored 14 points in the first half, when the Mystics took the lead for good. Washington opened its largest lead at 60-47 on a three-pointer by Jones with 13:36 to go.
Washington's winning streak has followed a season-high 11-game losing streak.
Jennifer Azzi and Margo Dydek scored 17 points each and Gwen Jackson and Semeka Randall added 11 apiece for San Antonio, which shot 41 percent (31-of-78) in its fourth straight loss.
