Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

FOXBORO, Mass., July 19 (UPI) -- Landon Donovan scored four goals and Eddie Lewis had four assists to lead the U.S. 5-0 over Cuba Saturday in the semifinals of the Gold Cup.
Donovan became just the fourth player in U.S. soccer history to record four goals in one game. The others were Archie Stark in 1925 against Canada, legendary former Colombia football Coach Aldo "Buff" Donelli in 1934 against Mexico in a World Cup match at Rome and Joe-Max Moore in 1993 against El Salvador in Los Angeles.
The U.S. will play the winner of Saturday night's game between Brazil and Colombia in the semifinals.
Mexico will meet Jamaica Sunday in Mexico City.
