CLEVELAND, July 19 (UPI) -- Deana Nolan hit a 14-foot jumper with 2.2 seconds left Saturday to lift Detroit to their its consecutive win, a 58-57 WNBA victory over Cleveland.
Latoya Thomas had a chance to win the game for Cleveland, but her off-balance 3-point attempt fell short at the buzzer.
Swin Cash led Detroit with 14 points, Cheryl Ford had 11 and Elaine Powell added 10.
Cleveland had a 32-29 advantage at the half, but the lead changed hands several times in the second half.
Penny Taylor, Chasity Melvin and reserve Merlakia Jones each scored 12 points for Cleveland. Taylor left the game with
3:34 to play after suffering a cut lip.
Detroit is the only team in the WNBA Eastern Conference with a winning road record.
