Red Sox outfielder to miss All-Star Game

DETROIT, July 12 (UPI) -- Boston Red Sox slugger Manny Ramirez will miss the All-Star Game due to a nagging hamstring injury, the team announced Saturday.

One of three outfielders elected by fans to the American League roster, Ramirez is hitting .321 with 21 home runs and 69 RBI in 90 games.

Major League Baseball has not named a replacement on the AL

roster, although Garret Anderson of the Anaheim Angels could move into the starting lineup. Anderson is batting .315 with 21 homers and 76 RBI in 90 games.
