
KANSAS CITY, Mo., July 11 (UPI) -- Forward Josh Wolff of the Kansas City Wizards will undergo surgery Friday to repair damage to the meniscus in his right knee.
The length of time Wolff, a member of the U.S. National team, forward Josh Wolff, will be sidelined will be determined by the extent damage to the cartilage. He has two goals and one assist in nine games this season for the Wizards, who are in second place in the Western Conference.
"I don't know how I did it," Wolff told the Kansas City Star. "I don't know if I did anything different from what I always do. I just planted and something kind of crackled. Now, I just have to wait and see."
Wolff appeared in two games for the United States at the 2002 World Cup, assisting on Brian McBride's game-winning goal against Mexico to lift the Americans into the quarterfinals.
