CINCINNATI, July 5 (UPI) -- The New York Mets erupted for four runs in the seventh inning Saturday and coasted to their fourth win in five games, 6-2 over the Cincinnati Reds.
Jeromy Burnitz's RBI double sparked the seventh-inning uprising and was the Mets' first hit off Danny Graves (4-8), who made his second straight start on three days' rest. Cliff Floyd also doubled in a run, then capped New York's scoring in the ninth with a two-run homer.
Steve Trachsel (8-5) matched zeros with Graves through six innings and came out after throwing one pitch in the seventh. The righthander yielded just four hits and a walk, striking out two, to win his third straight start.
Graves set down 16 straight hitters until Jay Bell drew a leadoff walk in the seventh. Bell came around to score the game's first run.
