TUSCALOOSA, Ala., July 4 (UPI) -- Mike Price has failed a second time in his attempt to get his job back as football coach at Alabama.
A school spokesman said the school's medication staff decided against putting together a panel to hear Price's request to appeal his firing.
"According to our policy, that decision is final," school spokeswoman Janet Griffith told the Tuscaloosa News.
Price was fired May 3 after he was unable to defuse the controversy surrounding his off-the-field behavior, which included a visit to a topless bar and unusual charges to a hotel bill. He came under intense scrutiny from alumni and university officials after his reported actions in Pensacola, Fla., on April 16 while in town for a pro-am charity golf tournament.
His attorney, Stephen Heninger, already had indicated that a lawsuit would be filed.
The school hired Mike Shula, a former player and an assistant coach with the Miami Dolphins, on May 8.
