Dennehy called "missing person"

WACO, Texas, July 1 (UPI) -- The police department in Waco, Texas said Tuesday that the case of Patrick Dennehy is being treated like a missing persons case.

On Tuesday, Public Information Ofc., Larry Holze of the Waco Police Department said Dennehy will not be talked about in past tense until he is confirmed to be dead.

"This is still being worked as a missing persons case," said Ofc. Steve Anderson added at a news conference. "There's still the glimmer of hope that Mr. Dennehy will show up and say, 'This is where I've been the whole time.'"

Dennehy has been missing since June 11, but an affidavit filed Monday in McLennan County, Texas stated that former roommate Carlton Dotson was being questioned by authorities in a possible homicide.

Waco police received information Monday from the Seaburg (Del.) Police Department that lists Dotson as a target.

Dennehy, a 6-10 junior center from Santa Clara, Calif., sat out last season after transferring from New Mexico.
