OAKLAND, Calif., June 30 (UPI) -- The Oakland Athletics have signed third baseman Brian Snyder, one of their two first-round picks in this year's draft.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Snyder, 21, was the 26th overall pick in the draft and was selected with San Francisco's first-round pick as compensation for the Giants' signing of free agent Ray Durham.

Snyder batted .396 with 11 homers and 55 RBI during his junior season at Stetson. He led the Atlantic Sun Conference in on-base percentage (.505), hits (90), doubles (23), total bases (152), and walks (48).

The Athletics have signed 15 of their first 17 draft picks, but University of Houston righthander Brad Sullivan, their other first-round selection, remains unsigned.
