Johnson, who has been sidelined since April 28, underwent successful right knee surgery on May 1. He is expected to return after the All-Star break in July.

The Arizona Star reported Tuesday that Johnson will make a rehab start for Tripe-A Tucson against Sacramento on July 3.

Johnson is 1-2 with a 6.94 ERA in four starts. He has 30 strikeouts and just five walks in 23 1/3 innings.

The Diamondbacks also placed Mike Koplove on the 15-day DL, retroactive to June 19, with recurring pain in his right shoulder.

Koplove is 3-0 with a 2.15 ERA in 31 games.

Bottalico was the winning pitcher Monday night in Arizona's 7-6 win over Houston. In eight seasons with Philadelphia, St. Louis, and Kansas City, he owns a 27-38 record with 114 saves and a 4.03 ERA.
