NY Mets 7, Anaheim 3

ANAHEIM, Calif., June 14 (UPI) -- The New York Mets pounded Anaheim pitching for 13 hits in a 7-3 victory over the Angels Friday.

The onslaught included homers by Timo Perez and Jeromy Burnitz.

New York Mets ran up a 5-0 lead and chased Anaheim starter Aaron Sele (4-3). New York's Mike Bacsik allowed six hits and two runs in five innings and recorded his first win of the season against one loss..

The Mets offensive surge against Anaheim continued the hard-hitting they displayed in a previous series with the Texas Rangers. In that one, New York bagged 26 runs on 37 hits in three games.
