Seattle 12; N.Y. Yankees 7

SEATTLE, May 7 (UPI) -- Ichiro Suzuki had three hits and drove in three runs Tuesday night as Seattle routed the New York Yankees, 12-7.

Also for the Mariners, Jeff Cirillo had three hits and scored three times, and Dan Wilson drove in three runs. Seattle now has won four straight and 17 of 22.

The Mariners also evened their season series with New York at two games apiece.

"We gave him a day off to give him a little rest, and he's come back swinging the bat like Ichiro," said Seattle Manager Bob Melvin. "He got a couple of big hits tonight with runners on. That's the guy we all knew would be here. It was just a matter of time in my opinion."

Cirillo has 10 hits in his last 19 at-bats and has raised his average to .226 on the season.

"The whole month of April wasn't too good, but I am starting out the month of May pretty good," said Cirillo, who has hit in six straight games. "There's a long way to go, but at least I am contributing and I feel a little better about myself. I am getting some hits and that always helps your confidence."

New York, which has dropped three straight games for the first time this season, committed three errors and numerous misplays.

Starter Andy Pettitte (4-2) surrendered eight runs, four earned, and nine hits in 4 1/3 innings. The loss was just the fourth in 17 road games for the Yankees.

"We didn't give him much support," said Yankees Manager Joe Torre. "It was an ugly game. It just looked like he was feeling his way out there. He didn't seem as aggressive as he has been."

"I thought he pitched well," said New York catcher Jorge Posada. "It's a lot different ballgame if they make plays behind him. This is one of those games you forget real quick."

Seattle starter Jamie Moyer (4-2) allowed three runs, two earned, and six hits in five innings. He walked two and struck out five.

The loss was just the fourth in 17 road games for the Yankees, who got little help from a bullpen that allowed four runs and six hits over the final 3 2/3 innings.
