NEW YORK, April 30 (UPI) -- Fordham University announced Wednesday that it reached an "amicable" agreement with Coach Bob Hill to, "end their contractual relationship."
The announcement followed by a week reports the school had decided to fire Hill, whose 4-24 record last season was the worst in Fordham's 100-year history.
"Fordham is grateful for Bob's contributions these past four years and coach Hill wishes Fordham well in its future endeavors," the school said in a statement. "Both parties have mutually agreed not to comment or issue any further statements."
Hill had six years remaining on a 10-year, $2.5 million contract.
The Rams closed the season with a 16-game losing streak and just two of their wins came on the court. The other two were forfeits by St. Bonaventure.
Fordham was 14-15 in Hill's first season, but slipped to 12-17 in 2000-01 and 8-20 in 2001-02.
Hill had greater success on the NBA level than he did with the Rams. He compiled a 257-212 record with the New York Knicks, Indiana Pacers and San Antonio Spurs and guided the Spurs to a league-best 62-20 record in the 1994-95 season.
