Mariners activate C Dan Wilson

ARLINGTON, Texas, April 6 (UPI) -- Seattle Mariners catcher Dan Wilson, who missed nearly all of spring training, was activated Sunday from the 15-day disabled list.

Wilson suffered a a strained internal oblique muscle during batting practice on Feb. 28 and did not appear in any exhibition games.

The 6-3, 215-pound Wilson, who turned 34 on March 25, has spent the last the nine seasons with the Mariners. He batted .295 with six home runs and 44 RBI in 115 games last season.

Wilson has a .266 batting average with 82 homers and 441 RBI in 1,089 career games with Cincinnati and Seattle.
