ALBANY, N.Y., March 25 (UPI) -- Freshman DeMario Eddins scored 19 points Tuesday night to lead Alabama-Birmingham to an 80-71 victory over Siena and into the quarterfinals of the National Invitation Tournament.
The Blazers (21-12) now head from upstate New York to Jamaica, where they will meet St. John's in the quarterfinals on Thursday night.

The winner of that game earns a berth in the NIT semifinals at Madison Square Garden.
Siena held a 65-64 lead with 6:12 remaining, but UAB closed the game with a 16-6 run.
Eric Bush had 15 points and Gabe Kennedy and Sidney Ball each added 14 for UAB.
Michael Haddix led Siena (21-11) with 16 points.
