
RUSTON, La., March 23 (UPI) -- Kim Wilburn recorded 19 points, eight rebounds and seven assists Sunday night to lead fourth-seeded Ohio State past Weber State, 66-44, in the first round of NCAA Women's Tournament West Region.
The Buckeyes (22-9) led by 14 points at halftime after holding the Wildcats to just 23 percent from the field over the first 20 minutes.
Wilburn hit eight of 14 field goal attempts and added three steals as Ohio State improved to 14-11 in NCAA Tournament games.
Courtney Coleman scored 13 points and pulled down seven rebounds and LaToya Turner added 12 points for the Buckeyes, who outrebounded Weber State, 39-25.
D'wan Shackleford chipped in eight points off the bench for the Wildcats.
Julie Gjertsen scored 18 points to lead Weber State (21-9), which lost in the first round of the NCAA Tournament for the second straight season.
