Chi. White Sox 4, Texas 0

TUCSON, March 23 (UPI) -- Jon Garland pitched six scoreless innings for his first win of the spring Sunday as the Chicago White Sox blanked the Texas Rangers, 4-0.

Garland scattered six hits, walked five and struck out two. Matt Ginter, Mike Porzio and David Sanders each worked scoreless innings to complete the six-hitter.

Jose Valentin, Frank Thomas and Joe Crede each drove in runs for the White Sox.

John Thomas, a new member of the Texas rotation, allowed four runs and eight hits in five innings.

Mark Teixera had two hits for the Rangers.
