Los Angeles 6, Houston 4

KISSIMMEE, Fla., March 22 (UPI) -- Terry Shumpert's three-run homer highlighted a six-run eighth inning Saturday as the Los Angeles Dodgers rallied for a 6-4 victory over the Houston Astros.

With Los Angeles trailing going into the eighth, 4-0, Mike Kinkade ignited the comeback with a solo homer. Jolbert Cabrera added a run-scoring double and Nick Theodorou had an RBI single in the inning.

Paul Lo Duca had two doubles while former Astro Daryle Ward and Calvin Murray collected a pair of singles apiece for Los Angeles, which had 13 hits.

Dodgers starter Odalis Perez gave up four unearned runs and five hits with five strikeouts and three walks in five innings. He surrendered back-to-back home runs to Jeff Bagwell and Lance Berkman in the third.

But Paul Shuey came on in the sixth and had four strikeouts in two innings. Bryan Corey, Los Angeles' fifth pitcher, retired the only batter he faced to pick up his third save of the spring.

Roy Oswalt started for Houston and had a strong performance. He permitted six hits in six scoreless innings, striking out two and walking none.

Houston setup man Octavio Dotel took the loss after getting tagged for six runs and six hits while retiring just one batter.

Astros shortstop Jose Vizcaino left the game with a sprained left ankle.
