
PEORIA, Ariz., March 12 (UPI) -- John Olerud doubled, homered and drove in three runs and Randy Winn added three hits Wednesday to lead the Seattle Mariners to a 7-5 victory over the San Francisco Giants in a battle of split squads.
Winn led off the game with a homer off Giants starter Damian Moss, who allowed four runs and four hits with two walks and two strikeouts in three innings. Four batters later, Olerud blasted a two-run shot to give Seattle a 3-0 lead.
Edgar Martinez plated a run for the Mariners in the third inning, while Ben Davis capped a three-run rally in the seventh with a two-run double.
Seattle starter Jamie Moyer labored through five innings, yielding three runs and seven hits with a walk and seven strikeouts to get the win. Aaron Taylor struck out two in the ninth en route to his second save.
Andres Galarraga swatted a two-run homer in the third inning for the Giants while Ruben Rivera collected three hits, including his first spring home run in the eighth.
