
BRADENTON, Fla., March 9 (UPI) -- Brian Giles, Craig Wilson and Aramis Ramirez homered Sunday, leading the Pittsburgh Pirates to a 5-2 Grapefruit League victory over a split squad of Cleveland Indians.
Giles and Wilson hit solo shots in the fourth and fifth innings, respectively, and Ramirez added a two-run blast in the sixth to snap a 2-2 tie. Carlos Rivera added an RBI for Pittsburgh.
Indians starter Billy Traber allowed Giles' homer but gave up only two other hits and struck out six without a walk in four innings. But Aaron Myette yielded Wilson's home run and Brian Talley gave up three runs in as many innings.
Josh Fogg pitched four scoreless innings in a starting role for Pittsburgh, allowing two hits and striking out three. Nelson Figueroa picked up the win despite yielding both Indians runs.
Victor Martinez hit a two-run homer for Cleveland.
