FORT MYERS, Fla., March 6 (UPI) -- Brad Radke combined with four relievers on a five-hitter Thursday as the Minnesota Twins posted a 3-0 victory over Pedro Martinez and the Boston Red Sox.
Radke gave up two hits and struck out one to notch the win. Tony Fiore, Adam Johnson, Jose Cabrera and Mike Nakamura each tossed an inning of relief, with Nakamura registering the save.
Martinez got off to a shaky start in his spring debut, allowing two first-inning runs, but he finished with a flourish, striking out his final four batters.
Todd Sears belted his fourth homer in nine exhibition games.
The Twins jumped on Martinez for two quick runs in the first when Denny Hocking singled with one out and scored on a double by Torii Hunter, who advanced to third on the throw and scored on an error by shortstop Nomar Garciaparra.
