Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24

MARYVALE, Ariz., March 6 (UPI) -- Mark Buehrle allowed two runs and five hits over four innings to earn his first spring win Thursday as the Chicago White Sox defeated the Milwaukee Brewers, 8-5.
After Matt Ginter and Gary Glover combined for three scoreless innings in relief for the White Sox, Rick White surrendered three runs and four hits in the eighth
Tom Gordon tossed a scoreless ninth to record his first save.
Magglio Ordonez and Tim Hummel each drove in two runs for the White Sox.
Matt Ford gave up two runs in the top of the fifth, when the White Sox snapped a 2-2 tie, and took the loss.
Milwaukee starter Ben Sheets yielded one run and three hits over two innings.
Joe Lawrence and Enrique Cruz had two hits apiece for the Brewers.
