PROVIDENCE, R.I., March 6 (UPI) -- The Bowl Championship Series has announced the formation of a presidential committee, which will provide oversight on issues related to the BCS.
The committee, which will have one representative from each of the six BCS conferences, will review options for modification of the BCS structure in the future.
The six committee members include Marye Anne Fox of North Carolina State (ACC), Donna Shalala of Miami (Big East), Graham Spanier of Penn State (Big Ten), Harvey Perlman of Nebraska (Big 12), Robert Khayat of Mississippi (SEC) and David Frohnmayer of Oregon (Pac-10).
"In addition to the presidential committee, the BCS is in the process of forming an advisory committee of athletic directors from each BCS conference to aid in the planning for the next cycle of postseason football," said Michael Tranghese, chairman of the BCS.
The current BCS agreement with the ABC broadcast network concludes in January 2006.
