
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., March 4 (UPI) -- Barry Bonds homered and Neifi Perez and Edwards Guzman each drove in two runs Tuesday as the San Francisco Giants played to a 10-10 tie against the San Diego Padres in a Cactus League matchup.
Bonds hit a solo homer off Mike Bynum in the third inning - his only hit in three at-bats. Guzman highlighted a six-run eighth with a two-run single as the Giants rallied for a 10-8 lead.
San Francisco reliever Chad Zerbe surrendered the lead in the ninth on an RBI single by Xavier Nady and Donaldo Mendez's sacrifice fly.
Giants starter Jason Schmidt struggled, allowing four runs, three hits and three walks in three innings. Kirk Rueter gave up two runs and five hits in 2 2/3 innings of relief.
Roberto Kelly fell a homer short of the cycle and drove in two runs for the Padres.
