ANAHEIM, Calif., March 2 (UPI) -- Milan Hnilicka made 29 saves and Vyacheslav Kozlov scored twice Sunday night to lead the Atlanta Thrashers to a 4-1 victory over the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.

Kozlov opened the scoring at 4:47 with a power-play goal and capped the night with Atlanta's second empty-net tally in the last minute.

Frantisek Kaberle notched the eventual game-winner at 7:53 of the second period. The defenseman fired a slap shot from the top of the right faceoff circle over Mighty Ducks goaltender Jean-Sebastien Giguere's left shoulder for his sixth goal.

Defenseman Ruslan Salei cut Anaheim's deficit in half with 4:09 left in the period. During a four on four, Adam Oates dropped a pass at the left circle and captain Paul Kariya provided a screen for Salei, whose blast went past the left side of Hnilicka.

The Ducks pulled Giguere, but Hnilicka stopped Kariya's shot from the left crease. Lubos Bartecko picked up the rebound, skated down the right side and put the puck into the empty net with 55 seconds left.

Atlanta is 2-3-1-0 after completing the West Coast portion of its trek. The Ducks return home for three days before completing the stretch of road games at Washington on Thursday.

Giguere turned aside 21 shots for the Ducks, who had their four-game winning streak over the Thrashers come to an end and endured only its second home loss in their last eight games (5-2-1) at Arrowhead Pond.
