TAMPA, Fla., Feb. 17 (UPI) -- Defenseman Dan Boyle continued his hot streak with a goal and an assist Monday night to lead the Tampa Bay Lightning to a 3-1 victory over the Southeast Division-leading Washington Capitals.

Boyle scored the tying goal 2:03 into the third period and assisted on Fredrik Modin's go-ahead tally just over two minutes later. He has four goals and an assist in his last four games.

Vaclav Propoal added an insurance goal with 85 seconds left as Tampa Bay concluded a 2


1 homestand and moved within four points of first-place Washington. The Lightning are 8-3-3-1 against Southeast Division foes.

Robert Lang scored his 17th goal in the second period and Olaf Kozig made 27 saves before being replaced late in the third for the Capitals, who completed a 2-2-0 road trip.
