Sergei Brylin suffers wrist injury

WASHINGTON, Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Versatile New Jersey Devils left wing Sergei Brylin suffered a right wrist injury in the first period of Wednesday night's game against the Washington Capitals.

Brylin, who can play all three forward positions, was checked along the boards by Washington's Steve Konowalchuk and collided with teammate Colin White. The 29-year-old Russian fell to the ice, clutching his wrist.

According to team officials, Brylin may have fractured the wrist. He will be re-examined Thursday after the team returns to New Jersey.

A nine-year veteran, Brylin is ninth on the team in scoring with 11 goals and eight assists in 51 games.
