
COLUMBIA, Mo., Feb. 1 (UPI) -- Rickey Paulding scored nine of his 21 points in the first four minutes of the second half Saturday to help lift No. 25 Missouri to a 73-70 victory over Colorado.
Paulding hit a jump shot with 16:24 left to cap an 11-2 run and put Missouri ahead, 48-37. The Tigers (13-4, 4-2 Big 12) never trailed after that surge, although the Buffaloes got close at the end.
Colorado (12-7, 2-4) edged within 71-70 with 7.2 seconds to go as a three-pointer by Michel Morandais finished off an 11-2 run. Freshman Jimmy McKinney hit a pair of free throws for Missouri at the other end and Morandais missed a three-pointer at the buzzer.
Morandais led the Buffaloes with 18 points and Blair Wilson added 16.
Colorado led throughout the first half, but Ricky Clemons hit a shot from halfcourt to give Missouri a 37-35 advantage at intermission. Clemons paced the Tigers with 25 points.
The Buffaloes suffered their fourth consecutive road loss and have not won here since 1997.
Missouri extended its home winning streak to 10 games and has won its last eight games against Colorado.
