PHOENIX, Jan. 10 (UPI) -- Rookie Amare Stoudemire had 15 points and a season-high 21 rebounds Friday night and the Phoenix Suns maintained control in the fourth quarter for a 96-90 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies.
Stoudemire, among the leading candidates for Rookie of the Year, had just two points and two boards in a 102-94 loss at Memphis on Dec. 8. But in the two meetings between the clubs in Phoenix, he is averaging 15 points and 18 rebounds.
Stephon Marbury had 25 points and 11 assists and Shawn Marion scored 20 points for Phoenix, which has won nine straight home games and 13 of 17 overall. The Suns are 25-5 all-time against the Grizzlies.
Pau Gasol collected 22 points and 11 boards for Memphis, which fell to 0-2 on a critical six-game road trip. The Grizzlies are a league-worst 1-15 on the road with their only win coming Dec. 10 at Miami.
