SAN DIEGO, Dec. 29 (UPI) -- Rian Lindell kicked a 24-yard field goal with 5:02 remaining in overtime Sunday as the Seattle Seahawks overcame a late 14-point deficit to down the San Diego Chargers, 31-28.

Eliminated from playoff contention before they took the field, the Chargers (8-8) failed to seal their first winning season since 1995. Instead, they fell into last place in the AFC West for the fifth time in six seasons.
