Vikings' Asher Allen retires at age 24
AUSTIN, Texas, Dec. 22 (UPI) -- Brandon Mouton scored 21 points Sunday as ninth-ranked Texas overcame a horrific shooting effort in the first half and edged Princeton, 57-54.
T.J. Ford added 10 points for the Longhorns (7-2), who shot just 23 percent from the field in the first half and trailed at the break, 21-18.
Texas hit half of its attempts over the final 20 minutes and picked up its second straight win following back-to-back defeats.
James Thomas had seven points and nine rebounds for the Longhorns, who made more than twice as many free throws as Princeton attempted and held a 39-22 advantage off the boards.
Kyle Wente scored 14 points and Spencer Gloger added 11 for the Tigers (3-5), who suffered their third straight loss.
