North Car. St. 104, Fairleigh Dickinson 65

RALEIGH, N.C., Dec. 21 (UPI) -- Julius Hodge scored 24 points and Marcus Melvin added 15 Saturday as No. 25 North Carolina State cruised to a 104-65 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson to remain unbeaten at the RBC Center.

Cameron Bennerman contributed 14 points and Josh Powell had 12 for the Wolfpack (6-1), who bounced back from their only loss of the season -- a 69-60 setback to Gonzaga in the Jimmy V Classic in New Jersey.

North Carolina State has dominated a weak home schedule, winning by an average of more than 25 points.

Lionel Bomayanko led Fairleigh Dickinson (4-3) with 20 points. Matt Hammond and Gordon Klaiber scored 11 apiece for the Knights, who have lost three of their last four games.

Hodge scored nine points in a 20-6 run as the Wolfpack took a 25-10 lead with 11:47 left in the first half. They pushed their advantage to 51-27 on two free throws by Josh Powell with just under two minutes remaining and went into halftime up, 55-31.

North Carolina State went back on the offensive to start the second half, beginning with a 12-0 spurt to take a 67-31 lead with 17:46 left.
