Detroit 111, Cleveland 106 (OT)

CLEVELAND, Dec. 18 (UPI) -- Chauncey Billups scored 23 points Wednesday night, including eight straight in overtime, to lead the Detroit Pistons to their season-high fifth straight win, a 111-106 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Billups broke a 103-103 deadlock in the extra period, putting home a layup between a pair of three-pointers. He led six players in double figures for the Pistons, who have won five in a row for the first time since Feb. 14-22 of last season.

Chucky Atkins nailed made four three-pointers and Billups and Cliff Robinson hit three apiece as the Pistons shot 13 of 24 from beyond the arc.

Detroit owned a 92-83 advantage midway through the fourth quarter, but was outscored 18-9 down the stretch. Cleveland's Ricky Davis converted a pair of free throws with 26 seconds remaining in regulation to force overtime.

Cleveland's Zydrunas Ilgauskas scored 29 points and Davis added 20. But the Cavaliers went just eight of 15 from the line in the fourth period and lost for the 20th time in 23 games.
