Toronto 4, NY Rangers 1

TORONTO, Dec. 14 (UPI) -- Mikael Renberg and Tie Domi scored off turnovers 67 seconds apart in the third period Saturday night, leading the Toronto Maple Leafs to their eighth straight home win, 4-1 over the New York Rangers.

Renberg and Domi both took advantage of bad passes by Rangers defensemen, making it 4-1 with 17:26 to play. That was all the Maple Leafs needed as they remained perfect at home since a 2-1 loss to Detroit on Nov. 16.

Mats Sundin had a goal and an assist for the Leafs, who are 11-4-0 following a 4-9-2 start. Most of their success has come at home, where they are 10-1-0 in their last 11 games.

Toronto tied the longest home winning streak in the NHL this season.

Mark Messier scored for the injury-plagued Rangers, who dropped their fifth straight game. They have allowed four goals in each of the last four.
