GREEN BAY, Wis., Dec. 11 (UPI) -- The Green Bay Packers on Wednesday placed cornerback-kick returner Darrien Gordon and running back Jay Graham on waivers.
Gordon was signed by the Packers as a free agent on July 16 after leading the NFC in punt returns last season as a member of the Atlanta Falcons.
This season, the 10-year veteran ranked 14th in the NFC in punt returns after 13 games, averaging 5.1 yards per return. During the season, Gordon moved into third place on the NFL's all-time punt returns list, passing Eric Metcalf.
Graham, in his fifth year, had been signed by the Packers as a free agent on Nov. 21 to provide a veteran backup down the stretch. He replaced the injured Najeh Davenport (eye) on the roster.
In last week's 26-22 win over Minnesota, Graham had one rush for minus-three yards and caught two passes for six yards.
