Anaheim 3, Nashville 0

ANAHEIM, Calif., Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 20 saves for his second shutout of the season Sunday night as the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim posted an easy 3-0 triumph over the Nashville Predators.

Anaheim improved to 8-1


0 all time at home against Nashville and 12-4-2-1 overall.

Niclas Havelid gave Giguere all the offensive support he needed with a shot past Tomas Vokoun to the upper left corner of the net with 5:28 remaining in the opening period.

The Mighty Ducks added two power-play strikes in the second period to put the game out of reach. Fredrik Olausson backhanded his own miss past Vokoun at 3:53 and Petr Sykora redirected a pass from Matt Cullen between the netminder's legs at 17:36.

Olausson, playing in his 999th career game, scored his first goal in 51 contests dating to last Dec. 7 at Phoenix.

Giguere made four saves in the first period and eight each in the final two for his 10th career shutout.

The Predators had been blanked only one other time this season, 7-0 at St. Louis on Oct. 30.
