Calgary 1; Minnesota 1 (OT)

CALGARY, Alberta, Dec. 6 (UPI) -- Al MacNeil remained unbeaten Thursday night as coach of the Calgary Flames, who got 34 saves from Roman Turek and battled to a 1-1 tie with the Minnesota Wild.

MacNeil, a special assistant to General Manager Craig Button, was named coach Tuesday after the firing of Greg Gilbert. The Flames responded with a 2-1 victory at Colorado in MacNeil's first game behind the bench in 20 years, then produced another solid defensive effort against Minnesota.

Turek stopped all 23 shots over the final 45 minutes and helped Calgary kill all eight power plays. He was making his seventh straight start since returning from a broken finger.

Rob Niedermayer scored the long goal for the Flames, who have just one win in their last seven home games (1-4-2).

Andrew Brunette atoned for an earlier gaffe by netting the equalizer for Minnesota, whose winless streak reached five games (0-2-2-1).
