Broncos shelve Hayward for 2002

DENVER, Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Denver Broncos Wednesday placed defensive end Reggie Hayward, who fractured his right hand in Sunday's game at San Diego, on the injured reserve list.

Hayward, 23, played in nine of Denver's 12 games in this his second season with the team. He had 10 tackles, including seven solos. He has 32 tackles, including three sacks, in 15 career games.

The Broncos also re-signed guard Mookie Moore, who was with the team in training camp and for one week in October.

Moore, 26, was with Denver from Oct. 23-28, after Tom Nalen was placed on injured reserve, but was inactive for his only game with the club at New England.

The 6-2, 318-pounder has played in five NFL games, including one start, all with Washington, in 2000.
