Tampa Bay 4, San Jose 2

TAMPA, Fla., Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Dave Andreychuk set an NHL record with his 250th career power-play goal Friday night and helped the Tampa Bay Lightning to a 4-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks.

With Mark Smith serving an obstruction penalty for hooking midway through the opening period, Andreychuk broke his tie with Hall of Famer Phil Esposito.

Brad Richards fired the puck toward the net from the left corner and it got past San Jose goaltender Evgeni Nabokov and defenseman Scott Hannan to the far side of the crease, where Andreychuk redirected it for the milestone goal.

It also put Andreychuk one away from becoming the 14th 600-goal scorer in NHL history. He and Detroit's Brett Hull are tied for ninth among active players with 1,256 points.

San Jose tied it at 1-1 just 64 seconds later on the first of Patrick Marleau's two goals. Marleau stood his ground in the crease against defenseman Nolan Pratt, got a pass from Teemu Selanne and sentd it past Nikolai Khabibulin.

After rookie Alexander Svitov's goal in the second period, Marleau tied it again with a power-play goal 7:07 into the third period. Khabibulin stopped defenseman Mike Rathje's rebound at the right goalpost, but the rebound came to the left side of the net, where Marleau had an open net and scored his fifth goal of the season.

Marleau could not keep the Sharks from losing their fourth straight game, however, as Ruslan Fedotenko netted the game-winner for the Lightning just over four minutes later.

Martin St. Louis iced it with 1:53 left, beating Nabokov on a wraparound for his 11th goal.
