Ottawa 3, Florida 2 (OT)

OTTAWA, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- Todd White scored with two minutes remaining in overtime Thursday night to lead the Ottawa Senators to a 3-2 triumph over the Florida Panthers.

Making his fifth consecutive start for injured starter Roberto Luongo, Jani Hurme made 31 saves against his former team to keep Florida in the game. Acquired from Ottawa on Oct. 1 for a pair of prospects, Hurme has been strong in his last four games and continued the trend with a number of solid saves.

But the 27-year-old goalie was out of position in overtime when White put a shot from just inside the left faceoff circle over his left shoulder for the game-winner.

After spending most of the game in Ottawa's zone, the Panthers tied the game on Kristian Huselius' goal with 8:34 remaining in the third period to force the extra session.

Defenseman Sandis Ozolinsh also scored for Florida, while Daniel Alfredson and rookie Jason Spezza netted power-play goals for the Senators, who have tallied with the man advantage in 13 straight games.
