LUBBOCK, Texas, Nov. 9 (UPI) -- Kliff Kingsbury continued his excellent season Saturday as Texas Tech became bowl eligible with a 49-24 Big 12 Conference victory over Oklahoma State.

Kingsbury completed 38 of 49 passes for 425 yards and four touchdowns. It was his fourth 400-yard game of the season and his seventh with over 300 passing yards. He also had no interceptions for the fifth time this year.

Texas Tech (7-4, 3-2 Big 12 South) has won three straight games and became eligible to play in a bowl game for the third time in as many years under Coach Mike Leach.

Oklahoma State (4-5, 2-3) failed in its quest to win three straight conference games for the first time since 1997. The Cowboys, who defeated Nebraska and Texas A&M in back-to-back weeks, remain two wins away from securing a chance to play in a bowl game.

Tatum Bell carried 22 times for 168 yards and two touchdowns in defeat. Oklahoma State has lost seven of its last eight games against Texas Tech and has not won in Lubbock since 1944.

Kingsbury got the Texas Tech offense going with a 32-yard touchdown strike to Carlos Francis 8:47 into the game. The Red Raiders then built a 21-0 lead with the ground game as Foy Munlin and Francis each found the end zone on touchdown runs.

Oklahoma State got as close as 28-21 when Bell ran for a 67-yard score 70 seconds into the third quarter, but Texas Tech answered with a 10-play, 80-yard touchdown drive that culminated in a 28-yard pass from Kingsbury to Mickey Peters.

Texas Tech has averaged 439 passing yards in its seven victories and 293 in its four losses.
