Terms were not disclosed.

The 6-11 Foster is about to begin his fourth season with Indiana. Last season, he averaged career highs of 5.7 points and 6.8 rebounds while playing all 82 games.

Foster was one of seven Pacers who could become free agents at the end of the season. Included in that group are forwards Ron Artest and Jonathan Bender, who also are eligible for an extension; center Brad Miller; and forward Jermaine O'Neal, who was an All-Star last season.

Foster was selected 21st overall by Golden State in the 1999 draft and had his rights traded to Indiana for the rights to guard Vonteego Cummings, who was waived last week by Cleveland.

The Pacers open the season at home Wednesday against Houston.
