Columbus 2, Tampa Bay 2 (OT)

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 23 (UPI) -- Dave Andreychuk tied the contest 12 seconds into the third period and Nikolai Khabibulin made several clutch saves down the stretch Wednesday night as the Tampa Bay Lightning remained the only undefeated team in the NHL with a 2-2 tie against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

The Lightning (4

2-0) trailed, 2-1, before Andreychuk scored on a power-play wrist shot that popped out of the glove of Marc Denis. Tampa Bay, which leads the league with 10 third-period goals, has scored on a man advantage in each of its first six games.

The Blue Jackets had numerous chances to score late in regulation and in the extra session, but Khabibulin stymied each attempt, including a chest save of a one-timer by Geoff Sanderson with less than 70 seconds to play in overtime.

Sanderson twice beat Khabibulin in the first 8:22 to stake the Blue Jackets to an early lead. Sanderson's second goal, his third of the season, came on a power-play redirection of a pass from Andrew Cassels.

It was Columbus' sixth straight game with a power-play goal, setting a team record.

Martin St. Louis countered with a goal, his sixth of the campaign, with 1:05 to play in the period. It was St. Louis' career-high fifth straight game with a goal.

Denis finished with 25 saves while Khabibulin stopped 24 shots. Columbus converted on just one of eight power plays and Tampa Bay was one of six.
