BATON ROUGE, La., Oct. 19 (UPI) -- Demetrius Hookfin returned an interception 10 yards for a touchdown Saturday night, capping a 25-point third quarter that rallied 12th-ranked Louisiana State to a 38-14 win over South Carolina.
Domanick Davis rushed for 113 yards and added a fourth-quarter touchdown for the Tigers (6-1, 3-0 SEC West), who have won six of their first seven games for the first time since 1996.
LSU trailed, 14-6, at the start of the third quarter. Marcus Randall tied the game, however, 12-yard run and the ensuing two-point conversion.
John Corbello's 37-yard field goal and Shyrone Carey's 13-yard touchdown run opened a 24-14 cushion for the Tigers, who rushed for 231 rushing yards without star running back LaBrandon Toefield.
South Carolina's Troy Williamson hit Corey Jenkins with a 60-yard bomb for the opening score. But the Gamecocks (5-3, 3-2) had their four-game winning streak snapped.
