Tommie Harris' wife dies

LAKE FOREST, Ill., Oct. 16 (UPI) -- The Chicago Bears Wednesday waived defensive end Keith McKenzie, who started three of the team's five games this season.
The Bears used the open roster spot to sign long snapper Jody Littleton, who was in training camp with the New York Giants before being released.
A six-year veteran, McKenzie played in the season opener against Minnesota and started the next three games in place of the injured Phillip Daniels before being listed as inactive last week against Green Bay. McKenzie had eight tackles this season.
A linebacker at Baylor, Littleton played for the Frankfurt Galaxy in NFL Europe this spring.
The Bears (2-3) visit Detroit on Sunday.
