Tampa Bay 4, Florida 3 (OT)

SUNRISE, Fla., Oct. 10 (UPI) -- Vaclav Prospal scored 3:34 into overtime Thursday night as the Tampa Bay Lightning rallied for a 4-3 victory over the Florida Panthers.

Prospal, a former Panther, picked up a loose puck at the top of the crease and wristed it over goaltender Roberto Luongo's right pad.

Vincent Lecavalier scored with 2:55 left in the third period to tie it as Tampa Bay erased a three-goal deficit.

Defensemen Dan Boyle and Stan Neckar each picked up two assists and Nikolai Khabibulin made 22 saves for Tampa Bay, which improved to 5-4-2 in season openers.

Sandis Ozolinsh scored two power-play goals and fellow defenseman Dmitry Yushkevich had a pair of assists for the Panthers.
