Philadelphia Eagles safety Brian Dawkins and rookie kicker Billy Cundiff of the Dallas Cowboys were the NFC Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week.

Dawkins had seven tackles, one sack, an interception and a fumble recovery as the Eagles posted a 35-17 victory over the Houston Texans. He also had a 57-yard touchdown reception on a fake punt, making him the first player in NFL history with a sack, an interception, fumble recovery and touchdown reception in the same game.

Cundiff made both his field goals in Dallas' 13-10 against the defending NFC champion St. Louis Rams. He kicked the game-winner from 48 yards as time expired.

Linebacker Ray Lewis and teammate Chris McAlister of the Baltimore Ravens were the AFC Defensive and Special Teams Players of the Week.

Lewis recorded 18 tackles and an interception in Baltimore's 34-23 victory over the Denver Broncos. It was the fourth weekly award for Lewis, who is in his seventh season.

McAlister added his name to the NFL record book when he returned a missed field goal 107 yards for a touchdown on the final play of the first half. He also returned three punts for 22 yards.
