TAMPA, Fla., Oct. 1 (UPI) -- Nikolai Khabibulin made 32 saves and Brad Richards and Vaclav Prospal each scored two goals Tuesday night as the Tampa Bay Lightning concluded their home preseason slate with a 6-0 blanking of the Atlanta Thrashers.

Khabibulin stopped 16 shots in the second period and had little to do during the Thrashers' six unsuccessful power-play opportunities.

Lightning defenseman Dan Boyle contributed two assists to increase his preseason total to eight in five games.

Tampa Bay rested left wing Dave Andreychuk and right wing Shane Willis. Atlanta's young stars Ilya Kovalchuk and Dany Heatley also did not play.
